Civic Hybrid Awards, Accolades and Ratings

IntelliChoice[1] tries to determine the actual costs of ownership of new vehicles over a five-year period by exhaustively analyzing government and third-party data, and assigning a value rating to all vehicles. For its low ownership costs and overall value, the Civic Hybrid Sedan has won the IntelliChoice Best Overall Value award for the "Excellent Value; SmartChoice-Lowest Fuel Cost and Lowest Operating Costs" categories.

Civic Hybrid with Vehicle Stability Assist? (VSA®) was named a 2010 TOP SAFETY PICK by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). According to the IIHS, the award "recognizes vehicles that do the best job of protecting people in front, side, rear, and now [for 2010] rollover crashes."

Recently, Polk recognized Honda for having the highest owner loyalty of any brand[1]. This means Honda had the highest percentage of households return to purchase another Honda-more than any other car brand.

[1] Highest Overall Make Loyalty based on MY09 Polk Statistics as of January 2010 for October 2008-September 2009. Honda had the highest percentage of households return to purchase or lease another Honda vehicle.

The Civic Hybrid was named one of the "Greenest Vehicles of 2010" by the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE). With its 42 mpg combined fuel economy[1], and AT-PZEV (Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle) rating[2], earning this recognition was easy for the Civic Hybrid. Three other Honda vehicles also made the list, making 2010 the ninth consecutive year Honda has had more than three cars named to ACEEE's "Greenest Vehicles."

The 2010 Civic Hybrid has received five stars (the highest rating) from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for its performance in the frontal crash test for both the driver's and front passenger's seating positions[1]. These frontal crash-safety ratings are a testament to the advanced safety engineering that comes standard on every Civic.
