Active Sound Control
The Crosstour's Active Sound Control system is new to the Honda lineup. It helps reduce low-decibel, high-frequency sounds by using microphones in the headliner to detect unwanted sound frequencies entering the cabin. The system responds by emitting precisely timed reverse-phase audio signals through the vehicle's speakers to cancel out the undesirable noise.
Advanced Compatibility Engineering? (ACE?) Body Structure
The Advanced Compatibility Engineering? (ACE?) body structure is a Honda exclusive body design that enhances occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal collisions. The ACE design utilizes a network of connected structural elements to distribute crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle. This enhanced frontal crash energy management helps to reduce the forces transferred to the passenger compartment and can help to more evenly disperse the forces transferred to other vehicles in a crash.
Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
All Accord models feature 4-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock braking (ABS). Using a special modulator, ABS pulses the brakes to help prevent wheel lockup to help the driver retain steering control during hard braking. In addition, the Accord braking system features Brake Assist to help the vehicle come to a stop sooner when the system senses emergency braking. Also standard is Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), helping braking performance by distributing brake force among the four wheels based on how much load each wheel is bearing.

Clamshell Tailgate (Element)
The Element's clamshell tailgate is split to permit easy loading or laid-back entertaining. The upper liftgate opens to reveal a low-height liftover so loading gear is no problem. Or let down the lower tailgate; it can hold an extra-large ice chest or even two 220-lb buddies.
Close-Ratio 6-Speed Manual Transmission
The Accord EX-L V-6 6-speed Coupe offers the sporting driver quick, precise gear control with the short-throw shifter. The clutch mechanism on the 6-speed transmission is designed to eliminate abrupt engagement and clutch-grab, resulting in smoother shifts.
Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) (Civic Hybrid)
Every 2010 Civic Hybrid is equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Similar to an automatic transmission, CVT is an advanced transmission that substitutes the gears found in more traditional transmissions and replaces them with a metal push-belt running between a pair of variable-width pulleys. Combined with the Drive-by-Wire? throttle system, the CVT constantly adjusts to provide the most efficient drive ratio possible depending on torque load. Honda CVTs provide better fuel efficiency[1] and acceleration when compared to a conventional transmission.

Drive-by-Wire? Throttle System
The Drive-by-Wire? throttle system helps enhance the driving character of the Accord Coupe. With smart electronics connecting the throttle pedal to the throttle butterfly valve in the intake manifold, the engine response can be optimized to suit the driving conditions and to better match the driver's expectations.
Driver's and Front Passenger's Active Head Restraints
In a sufficient rear-end impact, the active front head restraints move forward and up, helping reduce the likelihood of neck injury.
Dual-Action Tailgate (Ridgeline)
The Dual-Action Tailgate flips down like any tailgate but it also swings to the side to allow for easy loading/unloading of the items in the bed and Lockable In-Bed Trunk®. Designed to accommodate large and heavy items like an ATV, the heavy-duty Ridgeline has one of the industry's strongest tailgates-with a 300-pound dynamic load capacity.
Dual-Chamber Front Side Airbags with Passenger-Side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS)
In the event of a moderate-to-severe side impact, the side airbag inflates to help protect the driver's or front passenger's upper body. The Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) utilizes sensors in the front passenger's seatback to detect the height and seating position of the occupant. If a child or small-statured adult is leaning into the deployment path of the side airbag, sensors deactivate it
Dual-Stage, Multiple-Threshold Front Airbags (SRS)
The vehicle is equipped with dual-stage, multiple-threshold front airbags (SRS). One or both of these airbags will be deployed only in the event of a sufficient frontal impact. If deployed, these airbags are capable of being inflated at different rates depending on crash severity, seat-belt usage and other factors. Frontal airbags are designed to supplement the seatbelts to help reduce the likelihood of head and upper body injuries in frontal crashes.
Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD)
Part of the braking system, EBD is a more exacting method of ensuring that proportionate braking forces are applied to the brakes. In order to avoid needless ABS cycling during a non-emergency stop, EBD uses the ABS sensors to detect impending rear-wheel lockup. Then it signals an additional ABS solenoid to reduce braking force to the rear and add more to the front.
Eco Assist? (Insight)
In addition to a sophisticated hybrid engine, the Insight also features another fuel-saving device. The Insight comes standard with a driver-focused fuel-efficiency[1] enhancement technology named Eco Assist?[2]. As part of this system, pushing the dash-mounted ECON? button[2] modifies various vehicle systems to minimize the vehicle's overall energy use for increased fuel economy[1]. A sophisticated feedback system uses both ambient color behind the speedometer to indicate efficiency[1] as you drive and an Eco Guide display that provides feedback on your braking and acceleration to help you drive more efficiently[1]. A cumulative Eco Score scoring system, provides ongoing support.

All CR-V models are equipped with a steering column that can both tilt and telescope. Drivers can adjust the wheel exactly to their liking by releasing the lever located under the steering column.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
This system monitors the pressure in all four tires, and alerts the driver when the air pressure in any tire becomes significantly low[1].
1] For optimal tire wear and performance, tire pressure should be checked regularly with a gauge. Do not rely solely on the monitor system. Please see your Honda dealer for details.
Tri-Zone Automatic Climate Control System with Humidity Control and Air Filtration (Pilot)
The tri-zone automatic climate control system features three independent zones: driver, front passenger and rear passengers. The rear-seat controls feature an LCD display, so passengers can select the temperature they wish. They can also select mode and fan speed. The humidity control system automatically monitors cabin humidity and adjusts accordingly-it can even help prevent the windshield from fogging. The climate control system also includes a partial recirculation air intake, which provides fresh air while maintaining the selected temperature. This lowers the amount of time the A/C compressor and condenser fan operate, which helps improve fuel economy.
Unit-Body Construction
The highly rigid unit body helps the Accord Sedan achieve its exceptional structural rigidity and crash protection. A high percentage of high-tensile steel helps it to better absorb impact forces from the front, sides and rear, as well as the roof, in the event of a rollover.
Urethane-Coated Utility Floor (Element)
The Element anticipates its many uses from transporting gear to shuttling pets. So the floor surfaces are coated with urethane-a tough, nearly scratch- and puncture-proof material with an easy-to-clean finish. Electrical harness connectors above the floor were waterproofed and electronic components near the floor were raised above floor height to protect from water damage. (Nevertheless, do not hose out your Element.)

Located in the center console in Civic EX and EX-L models, the USB Audio Interface[1] can read flash drives loaded with MP3 or WMA music files. You can also plug in your compatible iPod®[2] to this port, which not only charges the device but allows it to be operated using the controls on the head unit or steering wheel.
[1] The USB Audio Interface is used for direct connection to and control of some current digital audio players and other USB devices that contain MP3, WMA or AAC music files. Some USB devices with security software and digital rights-protected files may not work. Please see your Honda dealer for details.
[2] iPod® classic® is a registered trademark of Apple Inc. iPod not included.
Variable Cylinder Management (VCM)
Powered by the intelligence of i-VTEC® technology, VCM® works on the principle that a vehicle only requires a fraction of its power output at cruising speeds. The system electronically deactivates cylinders to reduce fuel consumption[1]. The VCM® engine is able to run on 3, 4 or 6 cylinders based on the power requirement. So you get the best of both worlds: V-6 power when accelerating or climbing, as well as the efficiency of a smaller engine when cruising.
[1] EPA estimated 19 mpg city/29 hwy/23 combined for V-6 Sedan models. Based on 2010 EPA mileage estimates, reflecting new EPA fuel economy methods beginning with 2008 models. Use for comparison purposes only. Do not compare to models before 2008. Your actual mileage will vary depending on how you drive and maintain your vehicle.
Variable Torque Management® 4-Wheel Drive System (VTM-4®)(Pilot)
The Pilot's VTM-4® system operates automatically. But when you need to start off in extreme low-traction conditions such as when stopped in mud, on ice or in loose gravel, the thoughtful VTM-4 Lock® feature lets you manually lock the rear differential to help get you moving. And it can stay manually locked up to 18 mph.
Vehicle Stability Assist? (VSA®) with Traction Control
Vehicle Stability Assist? (VSA®)[1] is standard on all Accord models. During an understeer or oversteer condition, it can brake individual wheels and/or reduce engine power to help restore your intended course.
1] VSA is not a substitute for safe driving. It cannot correct the vehicle's course in every situation or compensate for reckless driving. Control of the vehicle always remains with the driver.
